Wanda Cockey selected as executive director for Providence Community Health Foundation

MEDFORD, Ore. – Providence Foundations announce that Wanda Cockey has accepted the role of executive director for the Providence Community Health Foundation in southern Oregon. Wanda begins her career with Providence on April 27. 

“Wanda brings a wealth and diversity of experience to the job, as well as a keen understanding of the community,” says Kelly Buechler, chief philanthropy officer for Providence Foundations in Oregon.

Wanda comes to Providence with more than 20 years of experience in development. Most recently, she served as the development manager at Dogs for Better Lives in Central Point.

Wanda entered the field of fundraising as a grant writer and went on to implement all aspects of annual giving at Memorial Medical Center Foundation in Long Beach, Calif. Wanda gained experience in health care development while working alongside physician partners and grateful patients.

“We are thrilled to have Wanda as our new executive director,” says Jeremy Leever, president of the foundation board in Medford.

“Her values, skill sets and enthusiasm align perfectly with the Providence mission and our Board work. We have a bright future ahead of us under Wanda’s leadership,” adds Leever.

The Community Health Foundation in Southern Oregon is known for community events such as the Providence Festival of Trees. Through generous donations from community members, the foundation supports efforts to continue groundbreaking research, to bring the latest technology and equipment to Providence facilities, and to generally improve the health of our communities.
