The Board of Directors of the Urban Renewal Agency of the City of Talent were recently notified by People’s Bank of Commerce Foundation of a $250,000 grant award to provide housing for fire victims on the Gateway Site in downtown Talent.

The Urban Renewal Agency is currently in the process of finalizing site engineering for the transitional site, which was also funded by a generous grant from People’s Bank of Commerce Foundation. In December, the Urban Renewal Agency partnered with the Phoenix-Talent School District to help provide housing for students and families displaced by the Almeda Fire. After receiving news of the grant, Chair

Darby Ayers-Flood stated, “our community cannot express our gratitude enough to People’s Bank, their employees, and foundation for their unwavering support for our community.” The grant will help move forward the long-range vision of the Gateway Site, installing permanent infrastructure while providing housing to those displaced within our community.
