Oregon’s Broadband Equity, Access, and Deployment (BEAD) Program Announces Entities that are Prequalified to Apply for Grants Starting April 22, 2025
Oregon will invest $689 million from federal BEAD funding to provide all unserved and underserved Oregonians with access to affordable, high-speed, reliable broadband. This milestone signals the beginning of the Scoring Phase, which will run from April 22 through May 22, 2025 for prequalified applicants.
On March 14, 2025, the BEAD program closed its Subgrantee Selection Process. After careful review of the 52 applications received by the Oregon Broadband Office (OBO), all applicants are approved and eligible to proceed to the Scoring Phase.
“I am thankful for the broad and robust interest in Oregon’s BEAD program,” said Nick Batz, Director of the Oregon Broadband Office. “Our prequalified applicants include local, regional, and national providers, as well as cities, counties, and tribes. I am incredibly appreciative of these 52 applicants in their willingness to help the Oregon Broadband Office close the digital divide in Oregon.”
