Citizens Bank Adds New Directors

CORVALIS, Ore. – Citizens Bank and Citizens Bancorp are proud to announce the appointment of Doug Boysen and Roger Busse to its Board of Directors.

Doug Boysen is the President & Chief Executive Officer of Samaritan Health Services (SHS), headquartered in Corvallis, Oregon.  Mr. Boysen leads a team of 6,000 employees who serve over 265,000 residents in Benton, Lincoln & Linn counties.  “His extensive leadership in human resources and work as general counsel in the health services industry will add invaluable experience to our board,” said Gordon Zimmerman, Citizens Bank President & CEO.

Doug is a native of Iowa and attended the University of Northern Iowa where he received a bachelor’s degree in business administration.  He continued his education at the University of Iowa where he received both his master’s degree in health administration and a juris doctorate.  He is an active community volunteer, serving multiple civic nonprofit organizations throughout the Willamette Valley.

Roger Busse brings with him 45 years of executive leadership, serving in roles as a banker, director, and educator in the financial services sector.  Mr. Busse most recently served as President/CEO and Director of Pacific Continental Bank in Eugene, Oregon and was inducted into the Oregon Bankers Hall of Fame in 2018.  He is passionate about education and is currently a Certified Management Consultant as well as a Professor of Banking and Finance at The University of Oregon, Lindquist College of Business.  “Roger has built a remarkable and celebrated career as a banker and business leader in Oregon,” said Gordon Zimmerman.  “We are fortunate to have an industry and community leader like Roger join our organization.”

Mr. Busse received his bachelor’s degree in business administration from Reed College in Portland and his master’s degree from Harvard University.  He is a published author, instructor, and frequent public speaker.  In addition, Roger has volunteered his time serving on numerous local charitable organizations as well as regional and national appointments to committee’s focused on the banking industry.
