DECEMBER 3, 2024

Business Oregon is pleased to announce that award letters have been distributed via email for the first round of the Child Care Infrastructure Program, which provides financial assistance for child care infrastructure activities.

Business Oregon received 738 applications with over $289 million in requested funding. Sixty-four projects were selected for awards totaling $10 million. Awarded projects included: planning projects, minor renovation and repairs, major renovation or new construction, and property acquisition.

All children in Oregon should have a safe place to receive a high-quality, culturally responsive education, and families should have affordable child care options. This program directly supports Governor Tina Kotek’s Education and Early Learning Priority by
providing the funding support needed for child care providers to make necessary safety improvements and expand their business to create availability for new clients.

Awarded applicants have 10 business days to submit the required documentation, outlined in their award email. If any applicant is unable to do so, Business Oregon will proceed with awarding other applicants. All applicants will receive their numerical scores
and are encouraged to reapply in future rounds.

The next round of funding will take place early 2025 and will consist of $15 million. An additional $25 million in funding for this program is expected to be received in Spring Business Oregon is working with the Department of Early Learning and Care, other state agencies, and private and non-profit entities to implement this grant and loan
program.
